HOW CAN I DO

I’m in Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital… Absolutely there must be student committee to commence projects and manage affair in our faculty. And I’m one of the committee…

Though our new semester was started a few months ago, Welcome party and activity for the freshmen is going to be established next 2 weeks and I am the one of managers…

It seem exciting for the freshmen as well as senior to carry on traditional welcome party. Because Siriraj is the first hospital and medical school in Thailand (120 years Siriraj Hospital) and settle riverside, there is a Traditional welcome freshmen.
Every freshmen must arrive here by crossing Choa Pra Ya river by boat, after arriving the side, welcome activities are prepared for them by senior…

Ok… get to the point..
As I mentioned above, I am the one of manager…
My duty is preparing a meal for them… Night meal around 2am Saturday 12 July after finishing strict senior instruction..

Gruel must be provided… I contact the bistro and cafeteria for that.
The first one that we usually order is very nice and suitable but chef is absent on that day,

the second is cafeteria that extremely convenient and very near the place but the cook is somewhat bad-natured and refuse to provide cutlery for us, they accept only foam bowl and plastic spoon,

the third is very nice but her bistro is far from here, the order cannot be delivered after 8pm (real time : 2am) I must guard the pot from 8pm till 2am or search for the safe place for them, carry 2 big pots of soft-boiled rice to the meal place and warm them myself

I deny using FOAM cutlery….. 200 foam cutlery must be used just a moment then they become the waste that damage our environment and cause global warm…

I try to ask the second seller to use her own cutlery and propose in committee meeting that I can clean those 200 bowls myself in case the second seller permit to give us her 200 bowls and cleaning is her problem or another choice is the third bistro, I can warm the rice myself, search the safe place or guard those big pots in order to avoid using 200 foam bowl….

My hard working is not as discouraged me as most of my friends’ idea, It’s regretful they think my idea is nonsense … why must I concern using foam too much, why must we clean cutlery ourselves… Using foam give you more convenient and safe your energy, just 200 foam bowl and plastic spoon don’t make the global warm problem much more terrible…

Ohhhhhh!!! I’m very sorry for that…. You are the one that think I’m nonsense, aren’t you?

Are you agree with my friends?… just your own little dreg doesn’t increase the waste too much….

One person one piece of waste, million people million piece of garbage…
just one piece can be accumulated to become a large amount of waste.

Most of people perceive Global warming… it seem a trend to quote that but who really care it
The action can reflect your idea,
The ones always have excuse for destroying their beloved environment…. Foam ware is usually used as well as plastic bag though we have the better choice…
it’s very easy to change your lifestyle… refusing plastic bag when you buy goods, using ware that can be cleaned instead disposable cutlery.. Just an easy and basic way to protect our earth, isn’t it?
Nothing is too difficult to start…. Just have a strong mind… your strength can defeat all of obstacle… I suppose

START NOW… start from yourself firstly before campaigning or asking anyone.

If environment problem is neglected, if everyone usually have their own excuses for damaging the earth…

Maybe the global warming is not as severe as human’s selfishness problem… I suppose.
